Meditators experience a wide variety of sensations while in meditation. During classes I give students an opportunity to describe any experiences they may have had during their practice. There seems to be a desire to attach some significant meaning to each and every experience they have had. I advise students that these sensations are the direct experience of the purification process happening in their meditation and observing and allowing these sensations is the important strategy to remember. While we love to create stories about these happenings the release of stress may be totally unrelated to the sensation you experience. In the following article Deepak Chopra addresses these questions in a clear and comforting manner.

What’s the significance of sensations during meditation?

Enjoy!
